Been going to Sandy since he opened. Never once had to explain what I want twice. Wee man comes with me now and gets the booster board and a lolly, which is the whole reason he sits still.

Pulled from Google
Took my six year old for his first proper cut after a disaster at a chain place. Rhona was brilliant with him, went slow, let him hold the clippers first. No tears and he asked when he could go back.
Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon with no plan and was in the chair in five minutes. Skin fade, twenty quid, better than the forty I was paying in Aberdeen.
Good cut and a fair price. Only thing is Saturday morning you will wait, so go midweek if you can. They tell you straight how long it will be rather than pretending.
Hot towel shave for my daughter's wedding. Sandy took his time over it and I came out looking like a different man. Worth the drive down the coast.
Asked for something different for once and instead of just nodding he told me it would not suit my hairline. Talked me into what I actually left with. That is worth more than the sixteen pounds.

Three chairs
Who you get.
Sandy Duthie
Since 2011 · the owner
Served his time in Aberdeen and opened here with one chair. Scissor work and hot towel shaves are his. Ask him for something that will not suit you and he will say so.
Rhona Beattie
Since 2019 · fades & kids
Took the second chair in 2019. Does most of the fades and nearly all the first haircuts, because she has more patience than the other two put together.
Ewan Craib
Since 2023 · came through the apprenticeship
Started sweeping up at seventeen and qualified last year. Quickest clipper cut in the shop and the only one who will talk to you about the football.
Who's cutting
Sandy and Rhona.
Two chairs, both busy.
Sandy Duthie served his time in Aberdeen, came back down the coast and opened on Millburn Wynd in 2011 with one chair and a secondhand mirror.
Rhona Beattie joined in 2019 and took the second chair. She does most of the fades and nearly all the first haircuts, because she has more patience than Sandy does and both of them will tell you so.
You can ask for either when you book, or leave it and take whichever chair comes free first. There is no difference in the price.
“If you have to explain it twice, I have not listened properly the first time.” Sandy Duthie

Busiest Saturday morning and the hour after school. Quietest Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon if you would rather have the place to yourself.
