Our story
Two rivers.
One van, to begin with.
Inverurie sits where the Ury runs into the Don. That is where the name came from, and it is about as far as the marketing thinking went in 2009.
Who started it
Seventeen years
on the same roads.
Ross served his time with a heating firm in Dyce, doing new-build estates where you fit the same bathroom forty times and never meet the person who lives in it.
He went out on his own in 2009 with a second-hand Transit and a list of six customers, all of them somebody's mother. The first winter was hard. The second one was fine, because the six had told about thirty other people.
That is still how it works. There has never been an advert, and the only reason this website exists is that people kept asking whether he did bathrooms as well — and he does, but there was nowhere to point them.
“If I fit it, it's my name on it. That tends to keep the standard up.” Ross Kellock · Gas Safe registered
The second van
Callum came through the apprenticeship
and never left.
Ross, a Transit, six customers
Servicing and repairs out of a lock-up on Blackhall Road. Bathrooms came later, once there was somebody to hold the other end.
Craigwell Estate
A unit with a bench and somewhere to keep stock, which is the difference between finishing a job on Tuesday and finishing it on Thursday.
An apprentice, then an engineer
Callum Reid started at seventeen, qualified in 2023, and now runs the second van. Gas Safe registered — his own registration, not ours.
And that is the plan
No third van, no office, no sales team. Two engineers is the size where Ross still knows every job in the diary, and that is the bit customers are actually paying for.
Papers
What we are registered for,
and the numbers to check it.
Gas
Gas Safe Register
Ross and Callum are both on the register. Every engineer carries their own card and it comes out at the door without being asked. Check either at gassaferegister.co.uk.
Water
WaterSafe approved
Approved contractor for work on the mains supply, which means we can self-certify what we install rather than waiting on Scottish Water to inspect it.
Trade body
SNIPEF member
Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers' Federation. Membership means audited accounts and a route to arbitration that does not involve you paying a solicitor.
Unvented
G3 qualified
Required by law for unvented hot water cylinders. Not every plumber holds it, and fitting one without it is a building standards breach on your house, not theirs.
Insurance
£5m public liability
Plus £10m employers' liability. Certificates are in the van and we will email them before we start if your insurer or letting agent wants them.
Guarantee
Twelve months on labour
Manufacturer's warranty on parts, registered in your name. Something goes wrong, you ring the number you rang the first time.
Behind the site
The office changes this,
not a developer.
Prices, offers, the gallery and the plan details are all editable from a dashboard. Somebody in the office signs in, types the new price, hits publish, and it is live — no invoice, no waiting a week for a developer with a free afternoon.
The panel on the right is a picture of that editor, not a working one. On a live build it is the real thing.

We're on the way.
It rings Ross's mobile, not an answering service. If we can't get to you inside the hour we'll say so on the call and talk you through finding your stopcock in the meantime.
